Former Officer Accused of Rape Says it was Consensual
ANCHORAGE, Alaska —
"A former Anchorage police officer accused of rape has admitted to having sex with several women while uniformed and on duty. Prosecutors cross-examining Anthony Rollins Thursday asked why he contacted his accusers when it seemed they wanted nothing to do with him.
Rollins made several dozen calls and sent multiple text messages that went unreturned by his accusers. One text read, "It's your favorite police officer.” In a second text, he asked, "Am I bothering u."
Another asked for sex. The woman responded she would have sex if Rollins paid her for it. He claims missing texts would show some of the women responded and even wanted to talk. Rollins claims at least one woman engaged in phone sex with him.
When asked why his demeanor changed when his tape recorder was off, the ex-cop said he was always professional. Prosecutors point to multiple policy violations Rollins made while interacting with his accusers. Rollins said he is guilty of adultery, but maintains that the sex was consensual."
